Resolutions
The May meeting is our Resolution Meeting.  Every year a number of subjects that members nationally have felt needed addressing are forward to all WI members.

“The WI has a long history of campaigning on a wide range of issues that matter to women and their communities. Over the past 100 years, WI members have campaigned to empower and support women within society, exerting their individual and collective influence; brought a series of controversial issues into the public domain; and brought about many changes in legislation and government policy”

2019-2020 Resolutions
There were five to select from
  • A call to increase potential stem cell donor registration
  • Female crash test dummies
  • End modern slavery
  • Time to talk about death and dying
  • Protect our precious helium
The top 2 voted by Welton WI Members were 'End modern slavery' and 'Time to talk about death and dying'.  However, the overall winners that would have been presented for final vote at the AGM were 'A call to increase potential stem cell donor registration' and End modern slavery'.  Both of these were subsequently taken as approved due to the situation with Covid-19 and the cancellation of the AGM.
